A reading group. A studying community. A bunch of people incarnating texts. If incarnating a text means assuming a modification of the being, what processes are involved? How can we embody this modification by reading a text?

What we are offering is a space where reading becomes incarnation or embodiment. Understanding a text with the body – as in any work, be it written, visual, sound or experiential – enables us to modify ourselves, to change places. These encounters seek the ideal conditions for thinking differently, generating dialogue and movement.

We regard the skin as a place for experiencing this incarnation. The skin as transversal axis of every reading session will be the thread running through them all. The skin as image and sensitive matter, as frontier or visible space of precariousness. The skin as a common place, as opening and closure, as border. The skin as a place for reflection, sensation and thought.

The conceptual lines we wish to incarnate are based on collective, anonymous and minority epic tales. The skin will cover questions of culture, blackness, adolescence, politics of tact… Epic tales, all of them, silenced by the hegemonic frameworks of validation and visibility. Some of them are of international scope; others are more restricted and local. But they all have in common the critical and transforming potential of an epic action.
