LET’S TALK ABOUT
19 h DECOLONIALISM
A tour of the exhibition Forensic Architecture. Towards an Investigative Aesthetics with Nancy Garín and Antoine Silvestre. During the itinerary we will navigate through images in an open dialogue with the visitors ranging from their own individual memories to the collective memory.
The aim is to find a common reflection on the relationships between aesthetics, architecture, memory and human rights, while trying to problematise the power relations linked to truth and memory, as well as the techniques and discourses against hegemonies, from a decolonial perspective.
Nancy Garín is a researcher and member of the art collective Etcétera…; the Internacional Errorista; Península. Colonial Processes and Artistic and Curatorial Practices; and Equipo Re.
Antoine Silvestre is an architect and town planner. He has participated in exhibition designs with the Etcétera collective; the 31st São Paulo Biennial (2014); and Como (…) cosas que no existen (Porto, 2015).

19 h THE ROLE OF THE DOCUMENT: ACTIVATING ARCHIVES
This itinerary invites us to reflect on the image understood as a document in the broadest sense. What do different types of documentary images mean? What are they for? How can they be activated? Based on the exhibitions Akram Zaatari: Against Photography. An Annotated History of the Arab Image Foundation and Forensic Architecture: Towards an Investigative Aesthetics, we will experience different ways of activating visual documents: either through playing with the materials of a photographic archive, as in Zaatari’s case, or through the use of images found on the Internet and used for research in open code by the Forensic Architecture group.
With Julia Ramírez Blanco, a historian and art critic specialising in the intersections between art, politics and utopia. Author of the book Utopías artísticas de revuelta, she is currently developing her research at the UB (Juan de la Cierva programme), within the Art Globalization Interculturality group.

HABITACIÓ 1418 (ROOM 1418). POGO BATON
‘As in a relay race, let’s hand over the pogo baton and get agitated together.’
Mar Medina has invited Jara Rocha to rethink the pogo from a feminist perspective. For his part, Tirso Orive has taken Jara’s text and generated a sound tool to be used during practice, as was done at the Antic Teatre as part of the project Manejar el hacer líquido de forma indisciplinada. When Aimar Pérez Galí attended that session, he was so astonished that he passed it on to the ‘roomers’ of Room 1418 for the Night of the Museums.
