La INFINITA de l’Hospitalet is a laboratory for creation and living arts promoted by Jordi Colomer and Carolina Olivares. This project’s curatorial perspective considers this initiative to be an essential ingredient in order to understand Colomer’s artistic work. That’s why, in addition to including it within the exhibition itself, the artists are implementing a series of actions on site at La Infinita itself. After all, this space is conceived as a hall outside the museum’s typical boundaries.
Beyond encouraging a porous presentation of the museum, this delocalisation lends recognition to some of the conceptual pillars that hover over the exhibition: FESTIVALS (the reinterpretation of popular traditions) and UTOPIAS (theatricality and the performing dimension). Although they can be conceived as specific productions in their own right, they all gravitate around Colomer’s work. This activity also makes it possible to address the participatory nature of many of the artist’s projects, practices and methodologies.
This project also strives to connect with contemporary artistic and social processes through experiences and events, just like the line of projects that have been crafted to date at La INFINITA.
Carolina Olivares is the curator and artistic producer of the exhibition.

An artistic co-production with

Carolina Olivares (Valdivia, Chile, 1973) is an artistic producer, writer and actress. In 2008, she founded CO producciones, an independent video art and documentary cinema production company that also manages artistic and cultural projects, serving as its director since its inception. She has promoted and founded a variety of creative platforms including KBB, Anfitriona and La INFINITA. As a producer, she has worked on films, performances and exhibitions with multiple artists, including Iván Argote, Valérie Jouve, Itziar Barrios, Camille Llobet and Enrique Ramírez. She has collaborated with Jordi Colomer on a regular basis since 2007. Throughout her career, she has been in charge of artistic production on a variety of projects with institutions such as Jeu de Paume (Paris), the Bronx Museum of the Arts in New York, ARGOS, Mercosur Biennial (Brazil), MATUCANA (Chile) and the Biennale di Venezia, among others.
