La Mercè 2022

Open day
in progress
Photo: Miquel Coll

Once again, MACBA is joining in with the celebrations of the city of Barcelona, and on 24 September you can take part in our open day, where you can visit our exhibitions for free. These include the MACBA Collection permanent exhibition and the temporary exhibitions, Cinthia Marcelle. A Conjunction of Factors and Seismography of Struggles. Towards a Global History of Critical and Cultural Journals. The MACBA Collection offers a journey through nine decades, told from Barcelona, which focus on different artistic and social moments in recent history. At the Cinthia Marcelle exhibition, poetry and social criticism fill the rooms with installations, films, photographs and collective energy. Seismography of Struggles meanwhile, invites us to discover an extensive collection of non-European publications that give voice to the critical resistance of the populace in response to colonialism.

You can join the guided visits to the MACBA Collection, given by Avalancha, at 4:30 pm (in Catalan) and Cinthia Marcelle. A Conjunction of Factors, with the pli-é collective, at 11 am (in Spanish) and at 12:30 pm (in Catalan).

We will also be continuing our tradition of the MACBA BOOKS special sale, where a selection of MACBA books will be on offer, with each book costing 6 euros. It will take place at the MACBA Store Laie from 21 to 26 September. Check the opening hours of the gift shop and bookstore.

We’ll see you there!
