Let’s visit the exhibition Tàpies: The Zen Imprint at Fundació Antoni Tàpies

We invite the Friends of the MACBA to visit Tàpies: The Zen Imprint, an exhibition that explores Antoni Tàpies’ interest in Japanese tradition and the work of monks who transmitted Zen Buddhism.

Through a selection of paintings, ceramics and drawings made in the 1970s and 1980s—coming from Fundació Antoni Tàpies’ collection and national and international loans—this exhibition shows how the artist incorporated many of the ideas, images, attitudes and techniques used by these Japanese artists.

This is the first of the various exhibitions that will be produced at Fundació Antoni Tàpies to celebrate Tàpies Year, which commemorates the centenary of the birth of the artist on December 13, 1923.
