Óscar Cornago  comes from the field of academic research in Human and Social Sciences. Developed from within the Spanish National Research Council in Madrid, his work specialises in performing arts, aesthetics, public art and comparative media theory. He is the author of numerous publications and has taught courses and conferences in Latin America and Europe, in addition to curating projects, meetings and theoretical and practical seminars in collaboration with artists and creation platforms around the idea of theatricality and community, the economics of artistic practices, archive and memory and the relationship between the arts and public settings.  He has formed part of the ARTEA research group since its foundation. He has been the coordinator of the Visual Archive of Performing Arts and a professor in the Master’s Degree in Performing Arts and Visual Culture at the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha in collaboration with MNCARS and the Teatros del Canal de Madrid. His latest works include “Ensayos de teoría escénica. Teatralidad, público y democracia”, as well as collective volumes such as “O teatro como experiência pública, Hacernos un mundo. Ficciones colectivas and Conversar, habitar. Perspectivas críticas sobre la idea de participación”.
